So a few weeks ago I was having some leg pain when running so I decided i need to find an alternative for exercising. Hey, try swimming I told myself. Why not? I have access to a pool at the Payne Center ( our student and faculty workout facility on campus). So I got my swim trunks and my filppy floppys and off i went. Besides I grew up in the water swimming in lakes, rivers and oceans. Lap 1: Whoa whoa whoa what's going on. It is suppose to be simple. Turn head breathe in, face in water breathe out. My A$$. It was by far the most humbling experience I have faced in the past year and a half when I started getting serious about my workouts. Well you know what they say "Just get back on that horse and ride". So that is what I did. Yup, I bought a bike. Let me tell ya, my biking experience was far better than the swim. However, I am not willing to admit defeat so yesterday I did get back in the pool and it was better than day 1. I will continue to swim, bike and run in pursuit of a half IronMan.
